Located in Fohnsdorf, Austria (near the Red Bull Formula 1 Circuit) under the same roof as HTP High Tech Plastics GmbH (HTP), originally, the SKINLINE was located at Klagenfurt, Austria and was developed further out of the Company “Hirsch Uhrenarmbänder.” In the 1980s it was started with the production of colorful bracelets for a well-known watch manufacturer. And thereupon, the idea of producing FIM parts for all kinds of products was born.
Product and Service Portfolio
Nanogate offers a wide range of products and services tailored to the needs of its customers in the automotive and non-automotive industry:
- FIM- foils (2D and 3D)
- Together with the daughter company HTP, also back molded parts à FIM “Foil Injection Molding”
- Nanogate offers prototypes and small batch series for decorative and functional foils and FIM parts.
- Nanogate also offers a big variety of surface finishings: High gloss, UV- harden end, perforated, semi gloss, and so on.

Nanogates products and (customized) solutions are used in a wide range of industries, including automotive, medical technology, electronics, consumer goods, and packaging. Innovation and Sustainability
Since decades Nanogate is known as an innovator in plastics industry. In the 1990s and 2000s were colourful straps for watches and exchangeable covers for mobile phones en vogue. The so called “SKINLINE technology” gets also applicationed in day/ night design (hidden till lid) and at processing of scratch resistant and high quality high gloss FIM- foils.
Nowadays Nanogate has put its technical emphasis on to the field of printed electronics. To work with various functional material and the further processing of printed electronics to a functional and decorative plastic part leads to a lot of new possibilities.
Nanogate is not are research company, but a process and industrial developer. To put the focus on that a sustainable design needs to be found especially regarding recyclability and durability. These are also big topics for the Multimold project and for the future portfolio of NGTs products.
